Now, I gotta mention that there’s this quiet charm in Little Mariakerke. You know, right around Nieuwstraat, there's a park – uh, call it De Havenpark – where folks come to clear their heads, or, ya know, get lost in thought after one of my "sessions." Heh, I joke, but seriously, it’s like a breath of fresh air in a blink. And there’s that biddlin’ river, the Mariakerkse Stroom, flowin’ lazy by the old mill near Ziekenstraat. Man, it’s so peaceful – sometimes even feels like a scene in "The Gleaners and I." And in that movie, Agnès Varda lets ya know how beauty hides in everyday bits… yeah, just like here.
