I love wandering through Barrio Alto, the old part of town. These narrow lanes, filled with boutique shops (oh man, some defnitely quirky ones) and ancient stone walls, make me feel like I’m stepping into a time machine. And then, there’s the Castle of Martos, perched high and overlooking the entire town—a robust reminder of our storied past, like Virginian history meets Roman triumph. A veritable “veni, vidi, vici” moment every time I look at it!
