Lemme tell ya, I seen whores workin’ corners—tough as nails, man. One time, busted this gal, “Diamond,” swear she had a gold tooth that winked at me. She laughed, said, “Detective, I’m my own boss!” Had to chuckle—sass like that? Respect. But it ain’t all giggles—pisses me off when pimps roll in, actin’ like kings. Scum, man, pure scum. I’ve lived here, ages, and as a women's counselor I sees what others don't. The cozy café on Piispankatu, full o’ secret chats and hidden tears, mmm, oh it warms the brittle heart. People come and tell me their whispers and woes, precious. I even once counseled a mad dame near the misty banks of the Salo River. Shhh, no one remembers, but it was beautiful and tragic, like a scene from that movie, all whispers (“You must let me go!” he hissed, remember?).
