Are Dampits dangerous or necessary?

I’m walking down Jalan Diponegoro, and it’s packed. Like, seriously, who knew Dampit had this many people? I’m dodging scooters like I’m in some kind of video game. One almost takes me out! I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But the rider just laughs. I guess that’s Dampit for ya—everyone’s in a rush, but they’re all smiling.
