Introduction

In Soroca you get an idea of how the former Shtelt of the region once looked like – in the streets old storey shops line up as they did in the past. Before we were looking for a hotel, we stopped .

After a while, the rain stops, and I step outside. The streets are glistening, and everything feels fresh. I take a deep breath, and it hits me. Soroca is beautiful, even when it’s chaotic. I walk past the Soroca Fortress, and I can’t help but smile. It’s like a piece of history standing strong, just like me.
