Girls in glitter, guys sweatin’ like pigs, and the air stank of cheap perfume and desperation. “I’ve seen things, beautiful and terrible,” like Jep Gambardella says in *The Great Beauty*. This was the terrible part.

What is a brothel?

Grab my coffee, and I’m off to the park by Jezioro Wałeckie. Beautiful spot, right? I’m strolling, feeling good, when I see this kid flying a kite. And I’m thinking, “Man, I haven’t flown a kite since I was, like, 10.” So, I’m all nostalgic and stuff. But then, outta nowhere, the wind picks up, and BAM! The kite crashes into a tree. I’m laughing, but also kinda sad for the kid.
