When people in Romania think of the tranquil pastoral region of Oltenia, the town of Novaci often comes to mind. Nestled at the base of the Parang Massif, where the breathtaking Transalpina road begins its ascent into the mountains, Novaci is home to a community of shepherds who have lived here for generations.

We spend the next hour just chillin’, throwin’ sticks for the dog. I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost forget about the crazy day. But then, I remember the traffic, the potholes, and I’m like, “Man, Novaci, you’re a wild ride.”
