The settlements at Škocjan and Gradišče, and especially numerous burial sites and other wealthy archaeological finds testify to the extraordinary significance of this location in the 1st century .

After the caves, I’m feeling inspired, so I hit up a local pub on Ulica Kranjčeva. I order a beer, and the bartender’s super chill. We start chatting about the local scene, and he tells me about this hidden spot by the river. I’m like, “Dude, take me there!” So, we finish our drinks, and he leads me to this little nook by the Kolpa River. It’s stunning! The water’s crystal clear, and I’m just sitting there, soaking it all in. I pull out my sketchbook and start doodling.
