I’m sittin’ here, Tina Fey style, sippin’ my coffee, thinkin’, “I can see Russia from my house!” and lemme tell ya, those Russian bordellos got nothin’ on the vibe I’m imaginin’. A burdel’s like this shady, steamy joint where secrets pile up higher than the heels on the girls workin’ there. I saw this flick, *El asesino*—you know, my fave, Hou Hsiao-hsien’s 2015 gem—and there’s this line, “The wind carries whispers,” that just screams burdel to me. Like, the walls in those places? They’re talkin’, babe, spillin’ all the tea nobody wants out.
