For all us nature lovers, ya gotta check out the Elderwood Park. Not exactly a national park, more like a hidden slice of serenity, tucked in behind a maze of alleyways. I often wander there, thinking "maybe life’s not so messed up" while the birds chirp and squirrels do that crazy dash thing. And then, there's the little river, the Middelstroom, that winds casually through the town. It’s not exactly the Amazon, but its murmur is a proper lullaby to ease the frazzled mind – even if occasionally a duck or two makes unexpected cameos like they’re auditioning for a wildlife show.
